The Tuvalu flag was adopted when the country became independent from the Gilbert Islands in 1976. The design consist of a light blue field with a Union Jack in the upper left canton. Nine yellow 5-pointed stars run diagonally across the field, on the outer half. The stars represent the nine islands which make up Tuvalu, and the positioning of the stars if geographically correct with the east toward the top of the flag.
Our Tuvalu flags are finished with a loop at the top and bottom of the flag to be used with clips to attach to the rope and run up a flag pole. Clips are included with the flag for your convenience.
