The Togo flag design was adopted in 1960 and consists of 5 horizontal bands, alternating green and yellow. In the upper canton is a red square with a white, 5 pointed star. The flag design resembles the flag of Liberia, which is reminiscent of the USA flag.
The colours of tho Togo flag are the Pan-African colours and are said to represent: red for the blood of the martyrs shed to gain independence. White for hope, the star of hope. Green is for the forests, nature and agriculture while yellow is for the natural resources of the country.
Our Togo flags are finished with a loop at the top and bottom of the flag to be used with clips to attach to the rope and run up a flag pole. Clips are included with the flag for your convenience.
