The Taiwan flag this is also called the flag of the Republic of China and was adopted in 1949 by Taiwan. The flag was used in China until the People's Republic of China was founded in 1949, after that it was no longer used in Mainland China.
The design consists of a red field, with a navy blue canton charged with a white sun, with 12 triangular rays. Symbolically, the 12 rays represent the 12 months and the 12 traditional shichen (traditional measurement of time). The red is for the blood of the revolutionaries who sacrificed themselves, as well as representing the earth. The blue is for the sky and sun for the earths sun as well as the aforementioned rays/time.
Our Taiwan flags are finished with a loop at the top and bottom of the flag to be used with clips to attach to the rope and run up a flag pole. Clips are included with the flag for your convenience.
