Materials
Materials
Printed flags are made from knitted polyester, a light fabric which flies well in light winds.
Fully Sewn flags are made from woven polyester (also known as flag bunting), which is thicker and considered more durable than knitted polyester.

If you'd prefer to dispose of your old flag at home, national flag protocol advises the flag should be destroyed privately and in a dignified way, such as being cut into small unrecognisable pieces and disposed of with household rubbish.
The Slovakia flag in its original form dates back to 1848, the year of the Revolution, the design was also used in Czechoslovakia (unofficially) before WW II. The current design of the Slovakia flag has been used since 1992 and consists of a horizontal tricolour of white, blue and red equal bands, with a shield containing the coat of arms on the hoist side. If the flag is flown vertically, the coat of arms is rotated and sits in the middle of the centre blue stripe.
