Nicaragua Flag - The current design was adopted in 1908 but has existed in this design since 1896. Original versions of this flag were still a horizontal tri-band flag with blue, white and another blue stripes across the flag with the coat of arms in the middle of the white stripe. Earlier versions had different shade of blue and in 1889 the stars on the coat of arms crossed into the lower blue stripe. The design change made in 1908 (shade of blue changed and the coat of arms back to being contained within the white stripe).
The Coat of Arms of Nicaragua was first adopted in 1823 and the current version has been used since 1971. The design features a triangle with 5 volcanoes over a lake, a rainbow above and Phrygian cap. Surrounding the triangle is the text 'Republic of Nicaragua- Central America'.
Our World flags are finished with a loop at the top and bottom of the flag to be used with clips to attach to the rope and run up a flag pole. Clips are included with the flag for your convenience.
