Namibia Flag - This flag design was adopted in 1990 after a competition where 870 entries were received. Six designs were short listed, then reduced to three. These designs were combined to create the current national flag which was then adopted on the 2nd February 1990.
The design consists of a white-edged red diagonal band, creating two triangles - the upper blue triangle is charged with a yellow sun with 12 rays, and a lower green triangle. The sun is to represent life and energy, red for heroism of the people and their determination to build a future of equal opportunity. Green is for agricultural resources, blue is for the sky and the ocean, white for peace and unity.
Our World flags are finished with a loop at the top and bottom of the flag to be used with clips to attach to the rope and run up a flag pole. Clips are included with the flag for your convenience.
