The current design for Congo has been in place since 2006. The Congo flag comprises of a blue field, cut diagonally with a red and yellow stripe and yellow star in the upper left canton. This design is almost the same as the designs dating back to 1963, however the blue was changed from a dark to light shade.
The blue represents peace, the red for the 'blood of the country's martyr's and yellow the country's wealth. The star represents the country's bright future.
